About me

Hi, I’m Rod. I’ve lived and played tennis Canberra for most of my life! (That pic above is me at Lyneham Tennis Centre with the Australian Open trophies).

My first tennis memory in Canberra is playing at Kippax at about age 10, and for many years, I loved playing at the Wednesday night social tennis there and so many times on weekends and other times. What a great club!! I still hit there, and the the hitting wall is still my go-to.

I’ve been restringing tennis and squash racquets across Canberra for more than 20 years. Over that time, I’ve helped everyone from competitive juniors, social hitters to seasoned club players, weekend warriors and even the occasional coach who needed a last-minute emergency restring before a tournament, or coaching session.

I’ve even had international players swing by for an emergency restring for the Canberra Challenger Event - what a privilege!!

Some people treat stringing as a chore — I treat it as part of the craft of the game.

As a long-time player and fan of tennis, I enjoy every part of it: the late-night Grand Slams, the rallies at local clubs, the gear, the tech, the tension tweaks, the string experiments — all the little elements that shape how your racquet feels when you strike the ball.

That passion carries through into every racquet I string.
